The project brings, by the artists involved, different approaches and “schools” of improvisation together. The composer and guitarist Erhard Hirt comes from the so-called. “free improvisation scene” that has evolved from the European version of the Free Jazz of the 60s. Tomasz Adam Nowak (Professor of artistic organ playing and improvisation at the Musikhochschule in Detmold) is as excellent as Organ improvisor and interpreter of classical and new music. The Berlin painter Helge Leiberg brings another dimension to the project. With groups like “Gokan”
(with Fine Kwiatkowski, Dietmar Diesner and others) he developed live paint techiques, which allow
him to transfer the immediacy of musical interaction to a artistic visual level. (For example he used
his paintings as a live overhead generated scenery in the opera “L’harmonia drammatica” by Vinko
Globokar.)
